homemade cookies

Who can resist some delicious homemade cookies? Nobody, we know. So, after following the recipe, just put them in the sachets of kraft paper or in card boxes, which you can then decorate to your liking.

Butter Cookies Recipe

  • 250g of melted butter
  • 250g of sugar
  • 1c. vanilla scent
  • 550g of flour
  • 1 egg
  • Flour q.s. (to roll out the dough and sprinkle the trays)

To prepare this homemade biscuit recipe, start by mixing the sugar with the butter and vanilla flavor very well, and gradually add the flour. Only then should you add the egg. You can knead it with your hands – our favorite way – or use a wooden spoon.

Form the dough into a ball and then let it rest in the fridge for about 1 hour.

After that time, sprinkle the workbench with flour and roll out pieces of dough with a rolling pin.

Cut with the most Christmas molds you have and place the cookies on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

The oven should be at 150º and the biscuits are ready in about 15 minutes.

Truffles

At Pink Coat of Arms Christmas Boxes are perfect for packing delicious chocolate truffles. Make a note of the recipe.

Chocolate truffle recipe

  • 200gr of dark chocolate
  • 300gr of condensed milk
  • 2c. rum soup
  • 1 natural yogurt
  • 100gr almond kernels
  • 3c. cocoa powder

Chop the chocolate into very small pieces and set aside.

Then, in a pot, mix the condensed milk with the rum, yogurt and chocolate. Stir occasionally until melted. At this stage, put the preparation in the refrigerator overnight.

On the day of cooking, place half of the almonds in a non-stick skillet and heat until golden. Coarsely chop the rest and place on a plate. Place the cocoa powder in another deep dish.

With a dessert spoon, gently remove small portions of the chocolate dough and fill them with an almond. Then, mold small balls and pass through the cocoa and chopped almonds.

Before putting the truffles in the offering boxes, take the truffles to the freezer for an hour.

King Cake

There is no Christmas without the famous king cake, so this is another good suggestion on this list of homemade Christmas gifts. If you've never tried cooking at home, then this is the time. See how.

king cake recipe

  • 750gr of flour
  • 30gr of baker's yeast
  • 150gr of butter or margarine
  • 150gr of sugar
  • 150gr of candied fruit
  • 150gr of dried fruits (pine nuts, walnuts, raisins, etc.)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 orange
  • 1dl of port wine
  • 1c. coarse salt dessert

Chop the candied fruits and place in a container with the dried fruits and port wine.

Then dissolve the yeast in 1dl of warm water and add to a cup of flour. Mix well and leave to rise at room temperature for about 15 minutes.

However, beat the butter or margarine with the sugar and the zest of the lemon and orange peel. Add the eggs, one by one, beating between each addition, and then the yeast dough. When everything is well connected, add the remaining sifted flour with salt. Knead well, until the dough is soft and elastic. If it is too hard, add some warm milk. Mix the macerated fruits in the port wine and knead again, forming a ball.

Sprinkle the dough with a little flour, cover it with a cloth and place it in a bowl wrapped in a thick cloth or even a blanket. The dough will rise in a warm environment for about 5 hours.

After this period, shape the dough in such a way as to leave a hole in the middle, brush it with egg yolk and decorate with whole candied fruit, whole pine nuts, half nuts and any other fruit you like.

Bake in a very hot oven and remove when golden.
Once cooked, brush the bolo-rei with jelly diluted in a little hot water. When it's cold, put on top of a base and inside the king cake packaging that you can find for sale at Brasão Rosa.
